To celebrate, I’m reviewing a book called Dreamers, written and illustrated by Yuyi Morales.
In the book, a Mexican woman and her little baby boy immigrate to America for a better life. But things don’t go as planned. They don’t know how to speak or read English very well, so they make a lot of mistakes. Once, they even took a bath in a water fountain! Then they discovered a library. When they walked into a library, their whole life changed. The mother realized how magical books are and decides to learn to read them. The author says: “Books became our language. Books became our home. Books became our lives.”
It’s amazing how you can open a book and it can teach you anything. At the back of the book, the author lists some of the books they read and that inspired them. I want to read some of them.
I really loved this book because of the illustrations. The pictures are all so colorful and whimsical. I also thought it was an interesting book because it’s a true story and I can’t wait to ask Yuyi Morales more questions about it when I interview her.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes colorful picture books that are relaxing and easy to read. It’s a great book for children from kindergarten to 3rd grade.

I do not remember the first time I went to the library, but I have been going since I was a baby. My favorite library is Farmington Community Library because they have a good variety of books and I like the way they organize the books.
