Review: Peter’s Chair Teaches Kids To Share

Posted by

Have you ever had to share your things? Well, Peter has. His new sister is getting all of his stuff, including his crib and cradle! Peter’s Chair by award-winning author Ezra Jack Keats is a great read, so definitely check it out.

I will be reading this book out loud TONIGHT at 7:30 pm EST on Facebook Live. A few people have been suggesting I do a storytime during quarantine, so I am! This will be my first one, so I hope you join and bring your little ones!

I chose this book because it teaches kids about sharing. Sometimes that is hard for little kids to understand. Peter was so fed up with sharing that he even wanted to run away! But it’s important for kids to learn to share because they will have to do it when they are adults, too. I really loved this book because it is a cute and easy book and I liked that the protagonist was black. Kids may remember Peter from The Snowy Day, by the same author.

I would recommend this cute story to kids four to seven. It is a good book they will enjoy and learn from, and I love the beautiful illustrations.

This book was so fun! Four out of four roses of course!
