Mary Ann Kinsinger writes about the life of a fictional character named Lily Lapp and her adventures. Every day things like chores and going to school are more interesting because Lily does them differently because of her religion. Things such as taking eggs from chickens and helping make milk are things I’ve never done before. As a six-year-old girl, Lily does more chores than me, which was kind of embarrassing.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked learning about a different culture through this book. I usually like books with good plots, but this one didn’t really have one, so it got a little boring. But their are more interesting parts than boring ones.
I recommend this book to readers any age, as long as they can read chapter books. The text is easy to understand, but a few major concepts like racism is slightly covered.
This book was pretty good. I rate it 3 out of 4 roses.
