Black History Month Triple Book Giveaway!

Posted by

Happy Black History Month!

This month is a time to focus on the journey of black people, recognizing their triumphs and struggles and celebrating the achievements of everyone from Harriet Tubman to Barack Obama.

To celebrate, I am doing a triple book giveaway!

I’ll be giving away three books by Christopher Paul Curtis, an award-winning author who is black. Each novel is a story about a gutsy black kid who overcame struggles.

You can check out the rules and enter to win one of the books on each of my social media channels.

On Instagram, someone can win a copy of Bud, Not Buddy, which won the Newberry Medal and the Coretta Scott King Award. It is an adventure tale of a 10-year-old boy from Flint, Mich., in search of his long-lost father. I reviewed this book almost a year ago. I like the cover better on the version I’m giving away!

On Twitter, I’ll be drawing a winner for The Mighty Miss Malone, a really great book. It’s about a 12-year-old girl who is really brave and also wants to reunite with her father. It was the first Christopher Paul Curtis book I ever read and I liked that there was a Michigan connection. My review is here.

And on Facebook, you can win Elijah of Buxton. That’s right. It won a Newberry Honor and the Coretta Scott King Award. It is about an 11-year-old boy who was the first in his town not born into slavery. Look for my review on Feb. 12.

I hope you enter to win all three! I will be posting the winners for each book on Valentine’s Day!

Good luck!
